The Somerset Levels in May – flies, flowers and chicks

The damselflies are out in force at the moment, the Common Blues making blurred electric blue and turquoise streaks across the paths. They never settled for long, so I had a lot of shots of blades of grass where a common blue had been, but no longer was. Or a smear of turquoise as it took off – true to life, but not much of a photo. At least the flowers kept still. The grebe chicks were fun to watch, and I’ve never seen a grebe chick’s tongue before, so that was a first.
